Are Oben Electric bikes government certified and eligible for subsidies?
Yes, Oben Electric bikes are covered under government incentives under the PM e-DRIVE scheme, which has completely replaced the FAME-II scheme since March 2024. Under PM E-DRIVE:
- Customers get a ₹5,000 per kWh subsidy (limited per vehicle) for electric two-wheelers in FY 2024-25.
- From April 2025 onwards, this subsidy has been cut by 50% in FY 2025-26, indicating the scheme's gradual wind-down.
- Oben's LFP battery-powered models are eligible, as they employ cutting-edge battery technology which complies with subsidy requirements.
The program has an e-voucher system—Aadhaar-supported and dealer-processed—that permits easy subsidy claims at the point of purchase
Example:
If you purchase the 4.4 kWh Rorr EZ under FY 2024-25, you'd be eligible for up to a ₹10,000 subsidy (₹5,000 × 2.0 kWh) based on cap restrictions.
In FY 2025-26, it reduces to ₹5,000 (₹2,500 × 2.0 kWh).
Subsidies at the state level can also be claimed—contact your local dealer for available incentives.
